Standard Inspection

The standard inspection is used to assess the property, identify evidence of possum and/or rodent activity, investigate potential access or entry points where safely accessible, and determine the appropriate next steps. Additional service or repair charges may apply depending on what is identified during the inspection.

Possum Removal & Proofing

From an additional $492 incl GST

Standard removal includes proofing of up to 2 basic entry points and installation of the temporary one-way door. Additional or more complex work is priced before it begins; if you do not proceed after the inspection, only the Inspection/call-out charge of $382 incl GST is payable at that stage; if materials are required or the work cannot be completed at the inspection visit, the inspection/call-out applies and the work is quoted for later completion.

Possum Box Installation

$384 incl GST / box

Both Possum Box Supply ($164 incl GST) and Possum Box Installation ($384 incl GST per box) are exempt from the standard inspection/call-out fee. Custom wooden possum boxes are suitable for Ringtail and Brushtail possums; installation is subject to safe and suitable access.

Where trapping is required instead of a one-way door system:

• A trapping charge applies per trap.
• Where The Possum Man is required to re-attend the property in connection with trapping or release, an additional re-attendance fee per day applies until the trapping process is completed.

The $382 incl GST inspection/call-out fee applies separately.

Possum trapping, handling and release must be undertaken in accordance with applicable NSW wildlife laws and licence requirements.

Rat Control

Standard rat control includes up to 4 rodent bait stations, each initially containing 2 bait blocks, positioned around the building perimeter according to the property and activity identified. Wall securing where required is $11 incl GST per station; additional stations are $61 incl GST each.

Possum + Rat Bundle

Replacement bait

$6 incl GST each

No standard inspection/call-out fee applies. Up to 12 bait stations are replenished as required as part of the maintenance visit; replacement rodent bait is $6 incl GST each.

Removal

Additional $327 incl GST

Standard removal covers up to 60 minutes of locating and safely removing the carcass. The removal charge applies in addition to the $382 incl GST inspection/call-out, subject to existing exemptions and site conditions.

Roof repairs / additional proofing

Inspection $382 incl GST, then quoted

Each service begins with the $382 incl GST initial inspection/call-out. The required guard, roof repair or additional proofing work is quoted following inspection; this is the inspection/call-out charge, not a complete repair price. The final scope and price depend on property construction, access, identified entry/access points and the work required.

Standard pricing may not apply where work requires:

• more than one technician
• work beyond approximately 5.5 metres vertical reach
• insufficient standard ladder clearance, including where approximately 1.6 metres of required ladder clearance cannot be achieved
• harnesses
• scaffolding
• cherry pickers
• other specialised access equipment
• other non-standard work requirements

These circumstances may require additional assessment and pricing. Unsafe access will not be attempted simply because additional equipment is available.

• Where a temporary one-way door is installed as part of possum removal, someone must be available at the property for the minimum four-day period following installation so activity can be monitored and action taken if required.
• Customers should contact The Possum Man promptly if there is concern about possum activity during this period.
• Warranty/conditions relating to the temporary one-way door may be void if the customer or a third party tampers with or removes it.
• If the temporary one-way door is damaged or lost, a replacement fee applies.

The Possum Man provides a 12-month workmanship warranty on approved possum-proofing work covering workmanship and materials within the approved scope.

If a possum breaches an entry point repaired by The Possum Man within the 12-month warranty period, The Possum Man will repair that repaired entry point at no additional charge, subject to the warranty conditions.

The warranty does not cover:

• new or different entry points
• entry points identified during inspection but not approved for repair
• future wildlife behaviour unrelated to the repaired entry point
• unrelated property deterioration
• open under-house areas
• valley or gutter areas outside the approved proofing work or scope
• lead or synthetic flashing
• unmaintained or rotting timber

Warranty may be void where relevant recommendations provided by The Possum Man are not followed. This is not a whole-property or absolute possum-free guarantee.

We will make every effort to arrive at the scheduled booking time. Because technicians travel between properties and field work can sometimes take longer than expected, customers should allow an arrival window of up to 60 minutes after the scheduled time. If we expect to arrive more than 60 minutes later, we will contact the customer.

Work may require access to roof areas and other parts of the property. Wet weather, extreme heat, strong winds, unsafe access or other unsuitable conditions may require some or all work to be rescheduled. Where this occurs, the customer will be contacted to arrange another suitable time.

A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling. Changes made with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a cancellation fee.

Payment is required on completion of the works. Accepted payment methods include major credit cards, cash and cheque.
